Route choices and outcomes below contain spoilers.
To meet Hector in Date Everything!, scan a wall vent with the Dateviators. Support him through the vent conversations, then accept his invitation to the attic HVAC for the relationship decision. Hector is Dateable 14, the home's HVAC system, voiced by Christian Navarro. Hector profile
Where to find Hector
The bedroom gives you a convenient starting point: face away from the bed and look high on the wall between the two closets. GameRant identifies this vent as an easy place to speak to him. Keep that landmark in mind when you return, rather than searching the house for a visible person. Bedroom location
Other documented vent locations include the living room opposite the fireplace and the office left of the bulletin board. The attic HVAC is another location, but the early route asks you to use the grates. Finding the larger machine does not mean Hector is ready for that meeting. Vent locations and story order
For navigation, choose one familiar vent as your regular stop. Make a note of the most recent conversation before moving to another task. That simple habit helps separate a location problem from a story that is still developing. The character directory provides the other launch-page routes.
Unlock the attic before the invitation pays off
You need access to the attic to finish the normal route. The wiki's access guide directs you to the office closet, on a day you have not already spoken to Dorian. Remove the Dateviators, interact with the carpet to expose a trapdoor, open it with the glasses off, and descend the ladder. Scan the skeleton key in the crawlspace to meet Keith. His help opens the attic; the guide also documents a Content Aware skip for his storyline. Attic access instructions
In the standard key route, Keith offers to help and goes into your pocket. Talking to attic Dorian then triggers the unlocking scene. The access guide counts a Keith interaction and a Dorian interaction for this version, so finding the key and opening the door are distinct steps. Standard unlocking route
That source distinguishes the optional clue conversation at the locked attic door from actually retrieving the key. Hearing Dorian's hint is useful orientation, but the guide does not make that hint a required unlock. Follow the attic key guide if you need the complete sequence rather than Hector's relationship advice.
Treat opening the room and receiving the invitation as two separate tasks. On your progress note, write whether each is complete. If one remains unfinished, that identifies a concrete next step without replaying the entire character route.
Key choices during Hector's early conversations
The romance walkthrough records five interactions, progressing from an abrupt introduction to the attic invitation and meeting. Be encouraging and express romantic interest for Love. Its final choices include “You are beautiful” and “I love you, Hector.” Romance sequence
The wiki adds an important early boundary: repeatedly confronting him at the attic before he is ready can produce Hate. It also records an early Hate outcome if you call him creepy and refuse to apologize. Continue through the vent conversations instead of assuming the attic is a shortcut. Early failure conditions
Use the invitation as your checkpoint. Before it appears, your question is whether you have completed the next vent conversation. After it appears, your question becomes whether you can enter the attic and target its HVAC. Keeping those questions separate makes the route easier to follow without needing a transcript of every exchange.
Love, Friends, and Hate endings
At the attic reveal, choose the response that matches your intended relationship. The romance walkthrough confirms that supportive early play can lead to either Love or Friends at the final decision. For Friendship, its documented option is “I do understand... but not as lovers, merely friends.” Insulting his revealed appearance leads to Hate. Ending branches
Friendship is a useful destination if that is the relationship you want. You do not need to choose romance merely to plan a later Realization: the global system accepts either a Love or Friends ending. Eligible relationships
Before selecting the final response, decide which result you are pursuing. If you are comparing guides, compare their intended ending too; a friendly response and a romantic response can both be successful answers to different goals. This guide condenses the documented branch points rather than claiming that every omitted line is interchangeable.
What to check when the route seems stuck
Start with the last meaningful event you remember. Was it the brief introduction, a conversation through a grate, the invitation, or the attic reveal? Use that event to choose the relevant section above. A locked room calls for the key instructions; an unfinished relationship calls for the story sequence.
If your result is already Hate, the wiki documents an Empathy Candy reset for Hector, while warning that obtaining Hate again makes it irreversible. Check that option before treating the current save as a fresh romance attempt. Hate and reset note
Keep troubleshooting notes specific: record the object you scanned, the latest scene, and the result you want. Avoid treating every short conversation as proof of a bug. Those details give you a useful comparison when checking another walkthrough or returning after working on another character.
Hector's Realization recipe
Hector's documented requirements are 25 Smarts, 35 Poise, 85 Empathy, 75 Charm, and 30 Sass. Check each category individually. The recipe agrees between his wiki page and GameRant's walkthrough. Recipe
There is a source discrepancy about the global unlock. GameRant says ten romances unlock Realization; the wiki's dedicated mechanic page instead records a recipe message after 43 awakened Dateables, then access after 48 awakened Dateables and speaking with Skylar. This guide follows the dedicated mechanic page for that unlock, rather than treating ten romances as sufficient. Current wiki conditions
Check three things separately: the global unlock, Hector's Love or Friends result, and all five SPECS requirements. A matching recipe does not replace the relationship or story unlock. The Realization guide covers the wider system. Complete any conversations you still want before committing: Realization releases the character into the real world and adds their photograph to the office corkboard. Realization effects
